    Oui, j'ai besoin d'une solution

Hi.  I have used PCAnywhere for 13 years, and while it's not a perfect program, it has served me reasonably well.  My version is 12.5.0.

I recently purchased a new laptop (new remote) and a new all-in-one (new host) for my home and office respectively.  I have installed PCAnywhere on both computers, and configured the remote and host settings exactly like they are on my old laptop (old remote) and desktop (old host).  The new remote has no trouble connecting with the old host, and of course the old remote and old host are still connecting just fine.  However, I am unable to get the old remote to connect with the new host.  Old remote and old host have Windows XP, while new remote and new host have Windows 8.

Since the new host connects with the office network wirelessly, I thought that might be the problem.  I connected the new host to my office modem via the ethernet cable, but it still won't connect.

My thinking is that this isn't a modem/router port forwarding issue, since that was done previously on this modem/router and still works perfectly when old remote is connecting with old host.  It has to be something on the new host computer.  I have tried turning off the McAfee and Windows firewalls while connecting, but no connection.

The error message is the one about being "unable to attach to specified device."

I'm having no luck getting PCAnywhere (Norton Enterprise) support, as I purchased the most recent version several years ago and no longer have proof of purchase (serial number, etc.).

I'm thinking there has to be some sort of setting on the new host that I haven't configured correctly or something.  I've also wondered if somehow Windows 8 isn't allowing PCAnywhere to receive the connection from the old remote, but that doesn't make sense to me since the new remote (Windows 8) was able to connect to old host (XP) without a problem.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

  • 09/17/14--02:49: Adding Full Name to report
  • Oui, j'ai besoin d'une solution

Hi there. After rolling out Bitlocker to our machines, I am looking for any Laptops (LT%) that have not began encryption. I have a report that works well. However, I would like to add the users full name and email address rather than just their username.

I use report builder 7.5 for any custom reports as my SQL is not the greatest. Here is the resolved query from the report.

    Any help would be great.

  • 09/17/14--04:34: Report Builder Documentation
  • Oui, j'ai besoin d'une solution

Hello all.  We are starting to have our IT community ask for specific reports and want them to be able to build their own but they do not have SQL experience.  Does anyone know of any documentation around using Report Builder in 7.5 that would serve as a guide to those needing to build reports but do not have SQL experience?

    Thanks!

Does anybody know how to leverage a custom Data Mapping for routing Incidents Title to a Queue and a email's subject to specific classification.

My goal is to create a sendIncident to workflow that can read this custom data mapping table and route a incident based on a title to a specific queue and based on subject line set a specific classification.

    data mapping_1.png

I have been able to indentifiy the table(s) in the ServiceDesk database that holds this data to be ...

    RulesActionMapping

    RulesActionMappingValue

Would I have to create a integration library to get this data?

any help would be mucho appreciated!!!

I would like to have a report or something similar that would show bulletins for a selected operating system. For example, I want to see all bulletins related Server 2012 R2 standard. I've hunted around and cannot seem to find one or a way to get this info. I've looked at multiple views and stored procedures in the database and found only one that would help me get closer to the info I want. That SP is sp_getResourceAssociationByResource.

Before I go digging deeper, does anyone have an easier way of getting at this info?

I'm looking for an audit like report that will tell software that is deployed to a machine from Altiris that tells the user in the console that pushed the software.  Is there a way to identify by a report the software that was pushed by a specific user to a specific computer or computers?

For example, I have this machine abcd.  It has adobe acrobat pro installed.  It was pushed from Altiris.  I'm trying to identify who pushed the software to the machine (user's ID in the console).  I'd really like to see for all software installed if it was installed by Altiris or not, but for now I'd be happy with just the information from the Altiris side.   Someone was identified with a non-licensed version of a software.  When they were approached, they said someone from IT installed it on my machine not me.  We have no way to prove if the user was telling the truth or not.
