    Oui, j'ai besoin d'une solution

    Hi,

We need help regarding deleting images of OS that are created in altiris and tasks are made for the same.

We need to remove old OS images and free some memory in hard drive as we are short of memory on it.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I got an app that is hidden so it won't show up in Add/Remove Programs. I created a installed software report to use with my managed software delivery policy and that has worked good. What I am trying to do is reverse the query to show me computers that don't have this software.

        SELECT DISTINCT
                                        [vri1_Computer].[Guid] AS [_ResourceGuid]
                                     FROM
                                        [vRM_Computer_Item] AS [vri1_Computer]
                                        INNER JOIN [Inv_InstalledSoftware] AS [dca2_InstalledSoftware]
                                           ON [vri1_Computer].[Guid] = [dca2_InstalledSoftware].[_ResourceGuid]
                                        INNER JOIN [vComputerResource] AS [ajs3_vComputerResource]
                                           ON [vri1_Computer].[Guid] = [ajs3_vComputerResource].[Guid]
                                     WHERE
                                        (
                                           (
                                            ([ajs3_vComputerResource].[IsManaged] = 1) AND _ResourceGuid IN (SELECT _ResourceGuid FROM Inv_InstalledSoftware WHERE InstallFlag = 0 AND (_SoftwareComponentGuid = '5933bf78-db6d-4455-bfe4-96ffabedbdc8')))
                                        )

I have tried changing ResourceGuid  IN to ResourceGuid NOT IN as well as changing the InstallFlag = 1 to 0 and the results just don't appear right. Any ideas?

I need a way to check for a version of a text file, I can check if it exist but need way to check for change.  Need ideas.

Basically I want to modify my software package to copy 3 text files for controlling Java settings to the machines.  I do this now but the settings files are on a network share.  The nice thing about this is I can easily modify the settings and all the clients are updated the issue is when a machine is offline it basically kills Java.  So I would like to put all these files locally on the machine but not lose my ability to keep these settings updated as I make changes.

Any ideas?  I'm using software management (MSD) to copy the files to the pc's.

Once our image has been deployed via ghost, we run a task to detect certain model numbers that require additional driver support and then launch deploy anywhere via a command line when it is needed. This approach works as expected on some models and has been in production for a while.

We've recently introduced new models to our environment - Lenovo x240 and T440s - and deploy anywhere does not complete on these machines. Once Deployanywhere is launched, it hands at "Retargeting device drivers..." indefinitely. Windows task manager on the affected machine shows that the deploy anywhere .exe is idle. We have deployanywhere logging turned on but the log file never grows beyond 0KB.

The command line that we're using is below.

    "X:\Program Files\Symantec\Deployment\ghost\DeployAnywhere64.exe" /target=D:\Windows/ddb="M:\DriversDB" /handleNonCriticalDrivers=adminLogon /logpath="D:\Scripts\DeployAnywhereNonCInstall" /skipMissingCriticalDrivers /byPassDrvVali=ALL

Additionally, if I manually run the above command line while the initial attempt is hung, deployanywhere finishes without issue.

During our imaging process, we create our own tokenized sysprep files. They work correclty on all models that do not require deploy anywhere and on some that do. On select models that use deploy anywhere sysprep fails with the "You must restart your computer to apply these changes" and "Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation" messages below.

    DASysprepError.jpg

This issue is detailed here and, at one point had a fix: http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/deploy-anywhere-causes-sysprepped-image-fail-unable-process-unattend-answer-file. I have obtained the most recent version of the deploy anywhere executables from support and am still having the issue.

After digging through the sysprep logs, I discovered that deployAnywhere is booting the system to audit mode and that it fails to process anything after the audit mode tasks. If I don't use deploy anywhere and use the same custom unattend.xml file, sysprep completes as expected.

    Has anyone else encountered this?

A flaw was corrected in 7.1 SP2 v8, but the invalid data still persists.  I glad the error was fixed, but it didn't address the garbage left behind.  Support has suggest deleting the computer entries and letting the new inventory populate.  It isn't practical to delete computer from the database to clear out the file inventory.  Our sites have added information to the asset records of many computers and deleting the computer will erase these changes.

Does anyone have a suggestion for cleaning up these invalid entries?

Has anybody else had problems trying to deploy these two patches MSWU-1006 and MSWU-1007 to Windows 8.1 devices? They are app updates that are just for Windows 8.1 and in order to do manually, you have to use a microsoft online account. However these are domain workstations in a lab and will never use microsoft online accounts. Is there any kind of workaround for trying to get these apps to update or remove them from patch management console so they show as NOT needing to be updated?

    Thanks

    Guys,

Need some information on the Site Server Promotion in Altiris 7.5.

I have installed the Altiris 7.5 Agent on one of the server and promoted it as a Task & Package Server. Did the Resource Membership Update, and updated the configuration on the SMA on the server agent. Now I see 2 Policies on the Software Delivery Tab.

    1. Task Service Install(x64) - Type - Package Rollout - Status - Package Not Yet Downloaded - Next Run - 9/5/2014 - 7 PM

    2. Windows Package Server Agent Install - Type - Package Rollout - Status - Task Never Started- Next Run - 9/5/2014 - 7 PM

I am not sure why its not running immediately. Any ideas on how to change the settings on the NS to run immediately?

    Hi,

I'm trying to install the SEP client on a VM and receive the message "Install server not responding".

I have SEP Manager installed on the host machine (Windows Server 2008 R2). The host machine has multiple VM's running and I would like to deploy the client to those VMs. I have tried all 3 ways to deploy and each get the same error message. The push methods says it's successful but nothing get's installed on the VM.

I was able to deploy on a workstation in the network without any trouble. I tested running http://192.168.5.17:8014/secars/secars.dll?hello,s... in the web browser of the VM and it came back "OK". The IP address in the URL is to my host machine that has the SEP manager installed.

This has something to do with the virtual machine environment, however I have been unsuccessful determining what the configuration issue is. I would appreciate any assistance.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Were currently running Altiris NS 7.5.3153.

So right now i have a Windows 8.1 machine that i built in HyperV that I have Installed some standard corp apps and company branding and the Altiris agent manually. I do this as this is my base image that i'll use for updating and creating checkpoints to restore to the point just before the Capture task begins.

I've never had any issues running my capture task on a physical machine, just when it's a VM.

Normally I just go to my Image Capture task and do a quick run and input my target machine name, press run and it Syspreps the machine and reboots and does the capture.

When checking the logs from the VM , i see the following.

We were using Symantec Ghost 11.0.2.1573, were switching platforms because of budget reasons. I heard there was way that Symantec can audit the computers that have been imaged by Ghost is that true? Also all of images are.GHS files if we convert them to another platform will the Ghost "audit" file still be on those images or will we have to sysprep a new image from scratch?
