    Hello,

    We use a standalone DS 6.9 SP6 server. We are happy about the product. I'd like to create some custom tools using ASDK 1.4 for Deployment Solution 6.9

    However when I run the excecutable altiris_asdkserver_1_4.exe file from http://www.solutionsam.com/solutions/6_0/ on the deployment servers the installation stops with error "This product requires NS".

    How can I get it round ?

    We're introducing some BYOD options at our company and I am working a plan for deploying software to Macintosh machines that are not part of the domain. I have successfully installed the Altiris Agent on a MacBook Air, applied policies to it, and have verified Altiris Agent functionality. However, I am having difficulty installing software via Managed Delivery Policies. Namely, I'm not sure how to specify a local account in the Run tab of the Advanced Options page in the SWD policy (below).

    The listed acount, admin_user is an administartor on the Mac and was the same account that I used when I pushed the Altiris Agent to the machine via the console. When I attempt to push software using this configuration, it fails to install. If you have succesfully configured SWD Policies to deploy to non-domian joined Macs, I'd appreciate any assitance that you can provide. Thanks!

    I'm trying to migrate from win xp to win7, when booting Lenovo 9645 to winpe4.0 x86 it says:

    Validating the network connection <validation criteria = -169.254>...

    Restarting DHCP client service: retry 1....

    I understand that this is because relevant network drivers are not being found due to which machine is unable to communicate with the DHCP for IP registration.

    I added the preboot drivers to the Altiris DB, and I see it's present in the folder. I rebuilt the PE envierment and updated it on the client.

    but when I reboot to PE it's not working. when I do ipconfig I see that there is no network card detected.

    I tried loading the driver manualy in the PE with drvload.exe and it works fine, gets the ip and so on.

    Please help.

    I tried to deploy software to client agent machine. I checked  "A User is not logged on to the computer" in advanced setting but it cannot deploy

    But this task failure.

    How can we deploy one task when user logged off ?

    We have a script that executes PCTWiz command and captures the personality to a specified location. Now we are trying to distribute this captured personality using a script as Distribute Personality task is not letting us to select package based on Computer Name from a custom location.

    Any leads / thougths would be of great help.

    Hey all, 

    We have a CMS and an SMS environments in our company. The SMS got created a couple months ago, and I've been seeing problems where it's importing machines that are supposed to be managed by CMS only. 

     

    The biggest problem is that it has imported and started managing the actual CMS NS agent, which totally ruined CMS (had to do a SQL restore). Then this week discovered and started managing one of the CMS site servers agents, upgraded the agents on it, and screwed it up. Now I cannot get Task on that site server to work again, and I think it's because of registry corruption (since SMS forced new agents onto it, and it doesnt look like I can clean it right). 

     

    Network discovery is disabled on the SMS server, and we made a filter to exclude all CMS servers, yet every other day I see some machines and servers get imported. What is causing this? How can these machines be getting discovered? Thanks!

    I am attempting to migrate a Software License Compliance report from my retired 6.9 environment to 7.1.  It is a custom report that works perfectly in 6.9 but I cannot figure out how to rewrite it for 7.1.

     

    What information can I provide for an expert in this area to help me out?  The XML is attached

    We upgraded from 7.1 SP2 MP1.1 to 7.5 SP1 MP1

    None of our servers or clients will connect to a task server now. We are unable to push the new agent. My client computer shows that half of my agents/plug-ins updated to 7.5.3153, and others show 7.1.7580

    We received no errors during or after the upgrade, and the console opens and navigates fine. We do have issues with the active directory import page. It freezes when click on our users or computers, and gives a long-running script error.

    However, even though no errors popped up, SIM shows that Symantec Management Platform 7.5 SP1 didn't properly configure.

    It says:  Product is not properly configured. This product is installed but not properly configured. You may need to manually configure or install this product again to resolve the problem. This may be caused by the SQL server not being available.

    We can ping the SQL server from our Notification Server without any issues. There is an option to reconfigure, which we ran a few times with no errors, but it didn't fix the message. 

    In SIM, when we hit CTRL + SHIFT + P for the partial installation listing for SMP, it shows 33 installed and configured, but 1 installed not configured. It shows:

    Supportability x64 (7.5.3219) (symantec_supportability 7_5_sp1_x64.msi) and with it's package code GUID

    Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

    My company is currently using Altiris DS 7.5 HF6, and we are going to deploy MS Office 2013 to all staff computers. It is a bit difficult to install it on every single client computer individually.

    The question is, can we push out MS Office 2013 by using DS? If so, what do we do to make it happen?

    I have two different shared datasets for the standard SEP Alerts cube, both with the same filters. The only difference between the datasets are the fields returned. When I import the datasets into a report without further filtering they work as intended. However, if I only want to have the data for the previous month, I use the filter expression =MonthName(Month(DateAdd("m",-1,Now()))). This works as intended when I preview the report, but when I publish the report one of the datasets is empty.

    The expression =MonthName(Month(DateAdd("m",-1,Now()))) = 'July' returns true when previewing, but returns false when the report is published. If I filter the datasets for just July instead of an expression it works as intended. The bug occurs for all numbers, not just -1.

    Hello Team,

    I have pushed the Altiris Agent on few computers from the Notification Server and found it to be successfully installed. They were all connected to the corporate LAN network. But when I remove them from the Corporate Network and connects to Internet, Cloud Mode is not getting enabled. CEM Policy has been applied to all these computers.

    When I use the CEM Package - It works fine. Cloud Mode is Enabled and when I connect to LAN, It is pointing to LAN Site Server. This works absolutely fine.

    Basically, what I want is :- I want to push the altiris agents from the NS console and when user connects to Internet, Agent has to get changed automatically to Cloud Mode.

    I'm evaluating how I can use the Altiris agent (tasks or policies) to run a custom, or 3rd party product, that will search the managed windows clients (Win 7\8) for software license keys (registry, in files, etc...).

    Ideally this would be without having to install any 3rd part product on all the clients and any custom tas to scan the registry and\or file structure is as unobtrusive as possible.

    Solution would have to be based on SMP and Inventory solution alone as we do not use deployment or software management solution.

    Anyone tackled or achieved something similar?
