    I have a job with some uninstall tasks with a reboot but when the computer come back up it doesnt continue where the job left off right away. It has to check back in with NS/Task server to finish the last job of installing software.  Is there a way to make the job contiue right away?

    The last day or so I have been trying to create a sysprep image of a windows 7 x86 and x64 machines and each time it fails at the prepare for image capture. I get the message that that system is going to restart and once it reboots I see the gray bar and text saying windows is loading files, then it just sits there for the next 90Minutes and the job fails.  I thought first it was a that i didn't have the drives for the NIC cards in the driver manager but after some checking they are both loaded.

    When a client has run a job in automation and reboots to start into production, it returns to automation. When it has started the WinPE environment, the client shuts down (since there's no job scheduled in automation), just to reboot into automation again.

    The same thing can happen when a client is started to boot to automation. It appears that there's no automation-job scheduled and the client exits the network-boot to start from the local harddisk.

    I can resolve this (temporarily) by restarting the "Altiris PXE Config helper" on the PXE-server, but I can't find what is causing this issue.

    Does anyone have any ideas on how to investigate this issue?

    Does anyone know where the flag to boot to automation or production is set?

    For our helpdesk people that need to find the owner of the coputer quickly for remote control purposes, before 7.5 SP1 upgrade there was a way to easily type the primary owner in the filter and the computer would display that they were the primary owner.  It seems like this is more of a challenge to figure out under 7.5 SP1.

    I need a filter that allows adhoc way of pulling up the primary Owner please.  This will only pull up the same user every time.

    I currently have a piece of agent based software I deployed with a managed software policy that is version 1.0 A push from the software's server was made to upgrade it to version 1.2. Both of these versions have different GUIDs. Because the detection rule uses GUID1.0, when the software is updated to 1.2 I get the managed software policy constantly re-installing software vesion 1.0. I believe I have corrected this by setting up the discovered resource for 1.2 as a '"Supersedes" Association for the 1.0 software resource. On the managed deliever policy for 1.0 I checked "Do not install if a newer version of this software is already installed". It also warns me a newer version 1.2 exists.

    Confusing yet?

    It appears everything is working but when my pre-download detection checks for 1.2 it still says "Not Detected". I would like to troubleshoot the Discovered resource for 1.2 to check the metadata and confirm the GUID. How do I do this? The software resource doesn't show up in any format under the software catalog, nor does it show up under All Resources when I search there. I do not have the installer for the 1.2 software so I can't import my own software resource to the catalog. I need to work from the discovered one. These discovered ones must live outside the software catalog?!?

    Strange issue here.  In creating a new Altiris 7.5 environment, all of the licensing etc... was scrubbed and inputted into the new system.  However, after a few weeks with clients in, we noticed that a couple of software products are displaying highly incorrect installed counts.  The only thing i've found so far is that there are multiple common components (.NET, Java etc...) which show up in the meter software tab. 


    I cannot for the life of me find out how to break this association.  Any ideas?
