    PXE boot now not working. the NBS plugins are at the correct version. I have tried to recreate preboot configuration but the bootwiz never seems to run on t he site servers. any ideas other than uninstall this tool and install an alternative that doesn't cause sooooo much grief!

    Hi, i start up a PCA Connection through a software written by myself.
    I start up PCA as Prozess through
                        myProcess1.StartInfo.FileName = sAWREM
                        myProcess1.StartInfo.WorkingDirectory = sPfad
                        myProcess1.StartInfo.Arguments = sFilename + " /c" + sIP
                        myProcess1.Start()

    When i connect to a plant i could be that i got the following PCA Message
    connection to the host is not possible. Host is busy
    When someone looks directly on the Host Computer (PCA Systray) i can see
    Session: Time
    User: Name

    Is it possible to get this Status Information remotly to my software?

    Is it just me or does the Symantec Installation Manager requiring a reboot because I've used it annoy anyone else? These are server products running on a server OS. Requiring a reboot seems a bit last century to me...

    I am wondering if the Symantec Ghost Solution Suite is compatible with Windows 8.1 Pro or not.

    Symantec Ghost "Server" and Console

    • Windows 8 Pro/Enterprise

    Symantec Ghost Console Client

    • 64/32-bit Windows OS including Windows 7 Ultimate/Professional/Enterprise

     Symantec Ghost Imaging Tools

    • Windows 8 Pro/Enterprise

    That is what I found on the system requirements for the Ghost Solution Suite.  Is this information up to date?  And if so, what does it mean for Windows 8.1?

    Hello,

    I've been using a bootdisk creator (bootwiz) for creating a bootdisks for winpe 4.x. The idea is to bootup from USB drive and deploy either 32bit or 64bit OS from Altiris. The problem is that i cannot create one bootmedia which would fit for 32 and 64bit OS installation. This is possible when doing the Pre Boot configuration in Altiris and using a PXE boot. Anyone knows how to do a bootdisk with both 32 and 64 bit files, as I understood its possible but requires more knowledge than I have.

    Hi Guys,

    I have encountered a weird case regarding MS14-003 software update bulletin.

    I have created a policy for this bulletin and then distribute it to my clients.

    When looking on compliance by bulletin I don't see any reports pertaining to this bulletin even after assessment scan has run into my clients.

    Is there a known issue regarding this bulletin?

    Hi,

    In Asset Management I have created various "views" for different Configuration Items inside the edit/creating screen of an Configuration Item (CI).

    However when I switch from one CI to another CI the browser show's me the latest "view" I have used and then I need to select the appropriate "view" to reflect the fields of this CI. E.g. I have a view for computers with all the relevant information I need and when I want to edit a Cell Phone I have the view of the Computers instead of the Cell Phone view,

    I have attached two screenshot one of the computers and one the simcards.

    What can I do to make sure that the correct view is opened based on the selected CI?

    I have upgraded altiris from 7.5 HF2 to HF5 and followed instruction but I can not recreate preboot configurations. 
    The Bootwiz.exe is not starting at all. Time that I waited is approximately one hour. 

    I have also rebooted the server but that did not help. 

    Really appreciate if someone have solution for the problem so that I can continue finishing the HF 5 upgrade.

    Today we noticed a user got a software policy deployed to his machines automatically., The user had not requested for the software of did any policy was pushed to the users machine.

    We check which policy was executed and found a policy which executed was on the software portal and had one machine in its target through Portal Internal Target. 

    We check the Logs and checked the Software Portal Request page and found the user did not request for any software but the machine was listed. Did any one come accross such unexpected execution of the software policies?

    The push from the console reports successfull but the heathy status shows offline and virus defination shows not available, when i log on to the client i cannot located any running service neither can i see symantect programme. 

    when i try to locally install using the setup from the client i get a pop up with errror message "another installation is in progress'

    am stuck please help how can i isntall symantec on this server

    I did a fresh install of Deployment Solution 7.5 and everything seems to be working okay.  I went to create an ISO from the Bootwiz and it created it just fine and I burnt the ISO to a disc.  The PC was able to start boot off the disc, but after 30sec to a minute...the screen goes to this light blue color screen.  I hit "ENTER" and I can see the light blue Windows 8 logo behind it.  It then goes back to the light blue screen again.  I can continue to do this over and over again, but I get the same results.  I made sure I had the correct drivers installed, but I don't even think it's getting to that point yet.  Any help would be great.  Thanks!

    I have the Software Portal available when you right click the Agent in a test group.  When you click on Software Portal, it defaults to opening in Firefox.  We need it to default open in IE.  I have looked everywhere and can't figure it out.  Does anyone have a suggestion or fix for this?
