    Hello,

    In our environment, users clear 2 step authentication when they attempt access to ServiceDesk Console using servicedesk.xxxxx.com is visited.:

    Step 1: NTLM Authentication where we need to enter our Domain ID and Password.

    Step 2: ProcessManager Authentication, where again we may enter our Domain ID or Email Address and relevant Password. However, you get the Step 2 authentication only if you fail to get cleared at Step 1 i.e. user hits cancel at the first step.

    Attached are the windows I am referring to.

    1. Would it be possible to disable the first step and users should directly to Step 2 i.e. to the ServiceDesk console authentication when servicedesk.xxxxx.com is visited?

    2. Also, would it be possible to change the the 'Forgot Password' text on ServiceDesk console login page to something like 'Click here to request a password reset' ?

    Hello All,

    Not sure if this a possibility, however, I have been asked to provide access (read only) to the APIs and its documentation of ServiceDesk 7.5 which our development team would in turn use to integrate their respective application to Service Desk. The goal of this activity is to get access to the ServiceDesk application database. 

    I had provided an approach of generating a workflow to collect that data and push it to a shared location in a form of csv or xml, however, Management denied the approach and had requested access to APIs.

    I am not sure from where do we get that.

    I did got some leads from a different post of mine, however, reposting it here as I am more specific to ServiceDesk 7.5 now.

    Hi,

    Hoping someone can help me fix my issue with the Deployment Automation folder in 7.5 HF4.

    The clients pick up the task, they copy the file from the NS and the Agent log shows no errors as far as I can tell.

    But,looking at the clients harddisk there is no bootmenu and no automation folder called c:\boot.

    Running the file that gets copied during the task manually ( PEINSTALL_X64.EXE) just gives an error saying autoinst.exe stopped working.

    My job allows us to download and use Symantec Endpoint Portection at home.  The version I have is 11.0.6005.562.  However, I am having issues with it.  I was thinking updating would get rid of them, but I am having a hard time with that too.

    My first issue is when ever I restart my computer my Network Threat Protection is active and detects a threat on 75.75.75.75.  The result is it blocks all my attempts to access the internet.  So far, my work around has been to deactivate Network Threat protection.  Anyone know how to fix this?

    Second issue.  Recently symantec has been popping up with tons of dwh*.tmp threats that are quaranteed.  This happened once before, but I had to format my computer for some other reason and it went away.

    Third issue, I can't figure out how to update from 11.0.6005.562 to the most recent version.

    Can anyone help me?  I am getting frustrated.

    All OK.

     

    But in ghost12

    for backup src=1:2   dst=1:3\$ddm\part2\image.ddm         got ERROR. because of 1:3\   I put   1.3:

    for backup src=1:2   dst=1.3:$ddm\part2\image.ddm         No ERROR. But cannot find image file. Can Restore that dst to src. What happen ?

    When sending notifications to End users and Support staff ServiceDesk inserts the users e-mail addres rather than First Name + Surname of Display Name.

    For example ..

    "Hi  Joe.Blogs@domain.com"

    Although this is not so much of a concern for Assignees this is not a form of address used when addressing customers.

    Are we able to inlclude names in notifications rather than e-mail addresses without using the email workflow?

    Hello,

    we have problems with reporting patch in title. When we can check Resource summary on some PC we can see that this patch is installed. In WindowsUpdate log we can see that the patch was installed. SMA don't have information (it is not in Software updates tab) that this patch needs to be installed but according report we can see that some computers don't have this patch installed - see screen shot.

    Can you please check it? SMP version 7.1 MP1.1 Roll up5.

    I can see on some patch management report there is informatou about reboot pending. On some PC the value is Yes so I did check resource summary for some and can see that there is reboot event. For example in the attached screenshot there is last reboot 26.2 but we are sure that the PC was more then 3 times rebooted from this time.

    In patch man policy for plugins we don't have defined reboot, customer is doing reboot according their needs for ATM.

    Can you please advice me when reboot event is sent? We have SMP 7.1 MP1.1 Rollup 5

    Ok everything was working great friday and came in this morning. Noticed Automation Reports did not go this morning.

    checked server and when I go into log viewer I see nothing but the following error... also queue was full so I moved them all out to clear it.. stuff is going back in slowly and not leaving... we rebooted both sql and ns servers...

    I have a Dell E6540 with the I27-LM and I am using Ghost Console 11.5.1.2266.  I have loaded the Intel driver (version 19) from \\PROWin32\PRO1000\Win32\NDIS62 into my WinPE folder from the Boot Wizard, but upon pulling the original stock image from the Dell I am getting a 127.0.0.1 IP address.  I have seen this before with Ghost not having the proper driver for a NIC.  Ghost only likes Vista x86 drivers; however the I27-LM does not have a Vista driver.  Any Ideas?  I am trying other versions of this Intel driver (18.7 and 18.6) but it seriously takes 10 minutes to load each driver into Ghost, so I will be around.

    I'm looking for clarification about detection checks.  For example, I'm deploying a  small application which may install on a 32 or 64 bit Windows 7 machine....

     

    My detection check reads ....

     

     

    -AND

                   +OR

                        (File Path = "C:\Program Files\Appname\App.exe")

     

     

    The installer is the same regardless but i need to check for the presence in both places.  This is similar to checking for a regkey @ HKLM\Software\APP OR HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\APP.....I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong but the software fails the detection check every time.

         I have been trying to manage our Altiris 7.1 environment that was installed by my predeccessor.  I have been able to kepp the the Windows 2008 servers up to date with patches but then wondered if Symantec rolls out any patches or updates for the Altiris platform that I should be installing.  Is there any article or info if this is the case?  Thanks for helping a newbie.
