    Hi,

    I am running SMP 7.5 latest version and IT-Analytics. I have an issue with starting dashboards & reports. Cubes are working fine.

    When I want to open a dashboard on the right site I only see a white page and after a long time a message "Internal error - server connection failed". I know that the reportserver is working correctly, because from the same server and same username I can open the reportserver directly and seethe dashboards and reports without any problem. It looks like that the report builder isn't opening within the browser.

    Any suggestions are welcome?

    Hi,

    I have upgraded my SMP to the latest 7.5 and have issues with importing computers and users from different domains. It looks like it starts importing, but hangs at one stage. I had a look in the logfiles, but that doesn't give me any clue what the problem is.

    I have attached a screenshot, because a picture says more than my description.

    Any suggestions?

    Ever since we upgraded to SP6, some of our jobs do not error out anymore.  They just get stuck at executing script on the DS console.  The local DAgent also says executing, but when i check the event logs it shows the error message. 

    In the past DS 6.9 SP4, if it errors out, it will show it in the DS console.  Now it doesnt after the upgrade.  Does anyone know how to get it to so?

    does anyone know how to add custom font to workflow ?

    I've installed it on Windows Server 2008 where Workflow Desinger is deployed.

    Font is visible when i'm running the workflow locally on the Workflow server, but not on clients. Does someone have knowledge how to solve this ?

    Hello,

    I cannot for the life of me figure out how to move a group of patch policies to a folder from the Altiris Console. If I click on the right hand side, I can choose move and put the policy in the folder I would like it...but, I cannot select a group of them and move them in bulk!

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Does anyone know if there is a report or tables that show how many users are currently logged into the Process Manager and if there is another that audits the login of users? I've looked through the reports and database tables but couldn't find anything that would hold this information. Any help would be appreciated.

    I have set a model as invocable and want to return several datatypes. whhen I set the output it seems fine. However, when I try to build or validate the worflow I get this message

    "Model <modelName> is marked as invocable but has no return type name"

    Can anyone tell me why am I getting this, and how can I fix it?

    We are testing SMP 7.5, our actual production area is working with SMP 7.1 SP2, but we need incorporate MS Windows 8.1 and also solve some issues, and we like to migrate to the last version.

    To do that, we have created a Lab, with a new NS (MS Windows 8 R2) with SMP 7.5 HF3 and also a new SS and several PCS over a separate LAN

    We have begun the test to DS, we have created a new preboot configuration configured with both x86 and x64 and Automation.

    Well, if we reboot a PC to PXE with x64 everything goes well, but if we reboot the same PC with x86, it deploys PXE ok and finish, but the "Reboot to PXE" task never finishes. After an hour of wait, if we stop manually the task with the console, we have seen that the error is "Wait to stop".

    We have reviwed all LOG files on PC with PXE started and we don't see any message that could be suspicious of produce the situation.

    Any ideas what is it happened?

    the versions of java installed on my machine are:

    • Java 7 Update 51 (v 7.0.510)
    • Java(TM) 6 Update 26 (64-bit)

    the packages of existing managed applications works - I am able to access the existing packages

    I have installed Patch Management Solution on ITMS 7.5.

    Currently on the endpoint it appears that the the Software Update Plug-in picks up the Windows Update installation time (3am by default).

    Is there any way to schedual the installation of the patches?

    Now we have to have capature user personality from workgroup and want to deploy personality after user login on that system through domain account

    1) I having one doubt that how personality work from workgroup to domain or it is possible

    2) If i have to capature personality of 5000 users then I have to create 5000 template or not?

    I didn't manage to find anywhere this kind of workflow so i've decided to share :)

    ..so i've developed a Webservice for request reassingment and this is the result:

    Workflow Type: WebService

    As an input data i'm taking:

    # ReportID (tracking_id) - string,

    # Assignment (user email or group name) - string,

    # ReassignedByEmail - (reassiging user email)

    Build hmtl table and send email components are used only for my debugging needs :)

     

    1. Declared new variable - Assignee - (Data Type: AssignmentTarget) - keeps information about Assignment Target - DisplayName, Email, UserID or Group Name, GroupID

    2. Get Incident By Tracking ID - ReportID as input - Output - Incident data

    3. Text Rule - checks if Assignment variable contains '@' character  -- this determines the path for next steps of workflow -- if contains - upper path else lower path

    4. Declared new constant - Assignee.AssignmentType - (Data Type: AssignmentType:User/Group)

    5. Get User By Email or Get Group By Name depending on path - in result - User or Group details

    6. Build Assignement Target - SingleValueMapping - mapping chosen AssignmentTarget details  to Assignee variable

    This has to be created for needs of next component - Reassing Request - SendCompleteWorkflowMessage component.

    This components send information about Reassingment target to SD.IncidentManagementWorkflow.

    SD.IncidentManagementWorkflow grabs this information (checks every 5 minutes for ToIncidentEscalateMessage data ) and reassingns incidents. I'dont know why every 5 minutes and where to change it...just my observations :)

    We trying to capture user personallity for that we have created template and imported at default location

    We giving task for capture personality but client machine not getting that task. All other task from NS server are working like update client configuration

    We use the Software Portal to allow our service desk to request software.  When a policy is requested, a target is created under Applied To.  As you can imagine, this creates a lot of clutter so someone before me implemented a script that purges all targets more than 120 hours old.

    This works fine, but leaves us with a Target list full of targets with a count of 0.  Is there any way to script the removal of targets with a count of 0?

    Hi,

    I am trying to determine whether to purchase the GSS software and have downloaded a trial version.

    My issue is that although I can backup a computer it appears only the first of three physical disks is being backed up.

    I tried setting up tasks to backup the other drives but that has it's own issues trying to schedule the 3 backups and is rather inconsistant in my testing.

     

    Is there a way to backup a computer with multiple physical drives using GSS 2.5x?

    If yes, please direct me to where I can research this. If no, please provide alternatives if you can think of any.

    Recently, we have had to replace our 2003 site servers with 2008 R2 site servers to upgrade to winpe 4.  When the 2008 server was built, it was using DHCP and then we used the static IP from the old server once the old server was decommissioned.  Once we changed the IP I chnaged the IP listed in the C:\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Agents\Deployment\Task Handler\SBS\initialPXEConfigPath.txt file.  Every so often something is changing the IP addresses in this file back to the original IP the server had.  I need to know what is writing to this file.  Is there a HowTo or whatever, for changing the IP address of a site server?

    Folks,

    I've read all the ITMS implemention guide and the "Recommended Hardware" requirements for Altiris 7.5. What I am looking for is specific hardware (server brand, internal disks, memory, etc.) that Symantec says is good to go for the implementaion. One of the things I have read in the "Recommended Hardware" requirements is processor cores for both the NS and SQL database servers. What is not specified is if the cores need to be physical or if virtual (Hyperthreading) is acceptable as a core. This is the vagueness I don't quite understand.

    The only reason I am asking is because we recently upgraded our Call Centers using Cisco products. They came to us with specifics, from exact servers models to exact setup of all hardware once purchased. This took the guess work out of what we needed to purchase and what they would support to optimize our environment. Does anyone know if this sort of document exists? Thanks to all for your help!
