    Hello all,

    We are migrating Altiris 7.1 SP2 to 7.5 HF4.

    We are unable to Update SIM.

    But on 7.1 SIM, we have moved to 7.5 but we are not able to clear the error here.

    I have attached below the error related to SIM7.1.

    PLS HELP ASAP.

    Something changed recently that has caused the grid component to stop working correctly in Safari and Chrome.  In these two browsers you are unable to select a line in a grid component where it works just line in IE and Firefox.  I thought it might be a patch on the Workflow server, but have been unable to find one that is causing the problem.  What else can I try or is anyone else experiencing the same problem?  I definitely could use a work around.

    We just upgraded out ITMS from 7.1 MP2 to 7.5 HF4, in the process we lost our right click command.  While in Jobs & Tasks we were able to right click on a job or task we were able to choose Quick Run instead of left clicking on the job or task then clicking Quick run.  Does anyone know who to recreate this?  Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm trying to automate the process of collecting support information because I have to ask for it very often and I'm sick of taking screenshots from Symantec Installation Manager just for showing version information.

    So I wonder where the SIM reads these information from. Currently I'm processing "Altiris\Symantec Installation Manager\InstallHistory\InstallHistory.xml" but I'm not sure this file alyways shows the same version information as SIM itself.

    I hope someone can help me.

    We have ServiceDesk 7.1 sp2 running. Our clients have recently been upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7, and they're running Internet Explorer 11.

    Several of our users (but not all) experience odd behavior in ServiceDesk. The lists, such as "Task Assignments" and "Tickets", have black borders around the tables. When this happens, they cannot expand any collapsed part of the list. Clicking on the [+] icon next to the grouping seems to cause a postback, but it does nothing. Other users see the tables without those dark black borders, and they can expand the groupings just fine, even using the same browser version.

    Does anyone have any idea what's going on and what we can do about it? We have several technicians who cannot see their tasks assignments and cannot work their tickets.

    the problem with preconfigured computers randomly appearing (described in thread above) is still happening.  if anyone has any suggestions, i'm all ears.  

    short version for those who don't want to re-read the above thread:  preconfigured computers are randomly appearing in the console.  by itself that isn't a problem, but when you boot a machine to winPE, it then gives you a popup menu telling you to select a preconfigured computer.  if you cancel that, it quits out of winpe.  if you don't cancel, it doesn't add itself to the DS console so you can't assign a job to it.  the only solution i've found is to sit there and scroll thru the list in the "pick a computer" drop-down then delete them, 3 at a time, from the DS console.  this is tedious, time-consuming and very annoying.  i've also noticed that all these preconfigured computers are duplicate entries of existing machines, but that not all of them have the yellow "preconfigured" icon, so i end up deleting all instances of the duplicates, and then just letting the "real" PC phone home on its own and re-add itself to the console.  

    is there a way i can create a filter or some sort of search in DS that will let me find all preconfigured computers and delete them all at once directly in the console?

    I would like to find "non-standard" or rogue software and easily remove it in our environment.  We have about 5700 computers that have software installed that we have deployed in our image.  

    We don't have local admin rights for the users of these systems but sometimes software allows you to install it without local admin rights like in the case of some web browsers.  I would like to query computers in a particular filter that have software installed where it is less than 30 computers total installed.  

    I would also like for these computers to return the uninstall path so that I can easily run the uninstall command on these systems.  We are in the process of limiting access to the internet on these systems so once we remove the software the problem will no longer come up in the future.

    My knowledge of SQL is fairly limited so if anyone has had to deal with similar situations that would be most helpful.

What am i missing?  If i goto inventory or first time setup i see lots of discovered computers with about 60% of them with inventory collected. Computers.png

    I have a workflow that creates users depending on there location as we have multipl domains.  On all domains barr one all user are created in a OU call "FV Users" which is selected from the drop down list using the filter "(&(&(ou>="FV Users")(objectCategory=organizationalUnit)(ou=*)))" on one domain if we have Students these are created in a Sub OU withing the FV Users but i am unable to have it display this OU, i have tryed diffrent filters that i can thing of ie.  (&(&(ou="FV Users",ou="Students")(objectCategory=organizationalUnit)(ou=*))) and (&(&(ou>="Students")(objectCategory=organizationalUnit)(ou=*))) does anyone know how i could git is to display the OU in my drop down menu?

    Just curious why on 1 site server the ghost image is pulled from http://siteserver..... and another site server it maps to a drive and pulls from that z:\ghostimage.gho.

    Not complaining as it works - why is it different? Any benefits of one over the other ?
