    Hello to a new problem, I have problems to update site servers in my environment, I use the policy update SMA (site-servers only), and the agent is reflected politics, but the status is always in "downloading" and makes many retries download but never downloads, if I try to update any agent that site is the same, try downloading the package manually and install it, when I do that the agent is damaged and I can not uninstall or install the site server again, once there is no longer the agents site server starts updating directly from NS, which will be happening? that I can not update the site server? and that if the package is installed, the agent is damaged?, I'm migrating from version 7.1 to version 7.5, and there are subnets and sites created, please help

    I installed LUA on my new server, but when i try download UPDATES- i have: 

    Symantec LiveUpdate - HTTP Failover Server http://liveupdate.symantec.com:80/ Unreachable Never

    But another old server work withuot problem.

    I updated our DS 6.9 SP4 to DS 6.9 SP6.

    After imaging laptop configuration task will add computer do domain.
    Task fails with error "the server is unwilling to process the request"

     

    Any ideas why this happends?
    I have never got this error on DS 6.9 SP4

    My setup is pretty straight forward. We have a NS and PS at HQ and a PS at all of our remote sites. All sites are connected via 10Mb WAN. Currently, if for some reason a package server fails at a site then clients will download SW updates/Patches from another site, most frequently the PS at HQ. this completly saturates the links. I have bandwidth throttled per client but it doesn't take too many clients to saturate a 10Mb link.

    I would be OK with SW delivery/Patching to be broken at that site until we can sort out whatever issue is preventing the local package server from servicing the clients in that site. failover to another site is not manditory. 

    What is the best way to prevent those clients from contacting other package servers in the company outside their site? I am using SMP 7.5

    I assign the task to caputre a ghost image of PC and sysprep flashes in Task Manager, unattend.xml is created and then nothing happens until the task times out.

     

    The PC is a clean install from DVD with current Windows Updated and Drivers.  SEP12.1.xxx is also running on the PC.

    slmgr /dlv is at 1 with a KMS license.

     

    Any ideas?

    Hello there,

     

    I attached the screenshot of the Software Update policy "Package Options" here. Would you please advise if I should uncheck the "Allow immediate restart if required" options in the Package Options?

     

    My concern and doubt are that if the first KB got installed and required restart but be put in "pending", can the rest of the KB(s) still be going on to install during and within a deployment? It seem like if one patch is pending restart, the rest of the KB supposed to be install during that one deployment is postponed???

     

    Please advise.

    I am new to Application metering and have been asked to create a report for a particular software for couple of months, the issue I am facing is that for each month I have to drill down on reports individually and then move this to Excel  then remove the duplicates, this is very cumbersome as it takes a lot of time, I was wondering if there was a way to get this via a sql query without have to go through the normal UI for Application metering.

     

    Any help in this is much appreciated.

    1) Run as administrator

    2) Run compatiblity settings XP SP3

    3) Run in safe mode

    I recently updated my 7.1 SP2 MR1.1 to Rollup 8 and now when I try to push an agent to a machine from the web interface I get this error in the logs. Prior to the rollup I would get a status for the install and the feature worked. Now with the error above nothing will attempt to start once I highlight the machine, choose install, and enter my credentials for that domain.
     
    I see several changes to the agentpush page and some of the tables in the various rollup release notes, but nothing specific to the error I am now getting. Has anyone else seen this or been able to resolve it? I suspect the computer name sholdn't be blank between the tick marks. I have deleted the entry and re-run AD import with the same results. Thank you.

    My company is running version 7.1 of Notification Server. Is there a patch or update to install so that the Symantec Management Console is compatible with IE 11? I keep getting the status bar at the top saying my browser is incompatible & should be run in IE 7, 8, or 9.

    I get email a lots from my users saying they can not use PcAnywhere connect to user's PC, so I use Computer Management --> Action--> Connect to another computer, I found out that Symantec PcAnywhere service did not start.

    IS anyway I can find out the report to see how many machines out there like this, then I can create the job send the package out to user's PC.

    Hello,

    We are running SMP 7.1 SP 2 MR 1 (I think 1.1..head hurts) with rollup 8.   Because of the rollup, a new client has to be pushed out and we are overwhelming either a package server that covers a region or the notification server.  Short of rebooting the server after disabling the policy, is there a way to stop the active connections to a package server?  Since the package server lists a URL and UNC path, so I assume we would have to kill both kind of connections.  I tried restarting/stopping IIS and killing the Altiris services does not stop it.   Any thoughts on how I can just cut communications and let the software delivery just fail?

    I have a computer that the Management Console tried pushing the Agent to unsuccessfully.  The computer was, at the time, using a VPN from his home network.  SMC is now showing his home IP of 192.168.x.x and when I try to ping the computer I get a second IP, which is in the VPN range.  How do I clear the IP Addresses and have SMC pull a new one for the computer?

    I am trying to understand the best way to loop through a collection, format the array text, and append it to a temporary file prior to creating a PDF document from the data and emailing it. Any ideas? Normally, you would create a temporary variable to store each formatted record and once you were done iterating through the data, you would use that file to create your PDF document. 

    What is the best way to temporarily store this information? I've attached a screenshot of my workflow to give you a better understanding of what I am trying to accomplish.

    I have found what I believe to be another bug or quirk in ServiceDesk. We have finalized a complete migration to 7.5 and everything has been working OK. With the migration we did move all of the old, closed tickets into the new system. The quirk/issue is that when we use the FInd Tickets web part in the main tickets page and enter an IM number, the ticket we're looking for isn't being pulled up but rather the migrated incident is (the one with the [ ]  around the IM number). We can get around it using the Manage Incidents tab but its kind of strange that the quick search is pulling up those older numbers when we don't explicity as for the [ ]  tickets. If we do enter a ticket with the [ ] in it the only incident that is always brought up is [IM-000001] no matter what number we enter.

    Has anyone else seen this and is there a way to fix the query attached to the search? If not then perhaps a call to support to put in a bug report would be in order.

    Dear All,

    I am getting an issue where I cannot create the IT Analytics Cubes in SMP 7.5 HF3 and it is slightly different to this issue:

    When I go into the IT Analytics section of the Console, I see that there are available cubes to install. i run the install and it goes through in very quick time, suggesting that the server with a full CMDB has done little or nothing, but no error messages were found.

    When I go to the SQL Server, I see that there are indeed NO Cubes installed. When I check the permissions on the Analysis Services, I see that the Altiris Service user is an administrator of the server. When I check the NS, I see that the regional settings are set for "British" and checking the SQL Server, I see that the regional settings are set for "US".

    Looking at David Evans' fix, I see that there is a fix for SMP 7.1 and that it was fixed in SP1 in this article:

    Is this still a valid fix for 7.5 or is there something else that needs to be done as well? I do not want to change the regional settings for either server, in case something bad happens.
